2020 annual conference | In Adam, In Christ

From creation to consummation, the Bible declares the marvelous truth that God is the sovereign ruler of all. In this grand story of God’s providential care over all of his creation, we learn some very important truths about what it means that we were not only created in the image of God, but re-created by Jesus Christ, the Last Adam. This conference will explore this theme of God’s love and provision ultimately found in the Last Adam.

We will answer questions such as: Who is the first Adam and how are we connected to him? Who is the Last Adam and why does it matter? What is the “cultural mandate” that the first Adam received and how does that shape our roles in this world? How does Christ’s role as the royal High Priest in Hebrews help me understand my place in the new creation? How should I as a sojourner view and relate to fellow sons of Adam and daughters of Eve? How does faith in the Last Adam provide hope for today? Join us in January 2020 to find out.

A Service of Lessons and Carols: December 23, 2019

service-of-lessons-and-carols 3.jpg

You, your family and friends are invited to join us as we gather for the annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Monday, December 23 at 7:30 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the Scriptures read and proclaimed, sing Christmas carols, and hear the choir sing choral works especially fitting for this time of year. What makes this service so rich is that the liturgy situates the birth of Christ against the backdrop of redemptive history. The incarnation is a key part of the creation-fall-redemption-consummation movement in scripture and the nine lessons illustrate that vividly.

Yi and Huimin Wang - 2018.jpg

November 24, 2019, Mr. Yi Wang, our pastoral intern to the Chinese Ministry, will be ordained to the office of Minister of Word and Sacrament.  This ordination will take place during our Sunday morning worship service.  Per the URCNA church order this is to be a public ordination before the congregation “with appropriate instructions, admonitions, prayers and subscription to the Three Forms of Unity by signing the Form of Subscription, followed with the laying on of hands by the ministers who are present and by the elders of the congregation, with the use of the appropriate liturgical forms.”  We are looking forward to this wonderful milestone in our brother Yi Wang’s life as well as the life of our church.
