Sunday Morning: The worship service will be held in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. and available via livestream. This Lord’s Day, Dr. Joshua Van Ee will be leading the morning worship service preaching from Matthew 1:18–25; “Beginning to Save.”

Afternoon Catechism Service:  Our Sunday afternoon catechism service is held at 1:15 p.m. in the sanctuary and livestreamed. Dr. Van Ee will be teaching today from the Heidelberg Catechism: Lord’s Day 10, Q&A 27-28; “God Crashes a Wedding.”

Dr. Van Ee has taught language and biblical studies courses at Westminster Seminary California since 2002. He is an ordained minister in the United Reformed Churches in North America and enjoys various opportunities to preach and teach. He is the son of a pastor in the Christian Reformed Church.

His graduate work included studies comparing Old Testament covenants with ancient treaties and legal texts. In his dissertation, he analyzed creation accounts from the biblical world and explored their relationship with future images of blessing in the prophets. He has studied in Israel and done archaeological work in Jordan. He is an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature. His current research is focused on the ceremonial and sacrificial system. He enjoys training students in the biblical languages and literatures so they can rightly understand and expound the Scriptures. He has published popular and scholarly articles on the Old Testament.

Dr. Van Ee, his wife, Heidi, and their three children reside in Escondido.

Sunday Morning:  Our worship service is at 10:30 a.m., and available via livestream. This Lord’s Day, The Rev. Dr. Daniel Borvan will be leading the morning worship service and preaching from Mark 1:1–15; “The Future Remedies the Past.”

Afternoon Catechism Service:  Our Sunday afternoon catechism service is held at 1:15 p.m. in the sanctuary and livestreamed. Dr. Borvan will be teaching at the afternoon service as well. The confessional reading for this Lord’s Day is The Apostles’ Creed.

The Rev. Dr. Daniel Borvan is pastor of Grace United Reformed Church in Torrance, CA. He is a graduate of Westminster Seminary California (MDiv, MAHT), Oxford University (DPhil, MSt), and Moody Bible Institute (BA). He and his wife Marcy have two daughters and a son.

Lord’s Day Worship and Missions Visit with Rev. Michael Brown - May 23, 2021

Join us on Sunday, May 23 for a special visit with Rev. Michael Brown, his wife Janie, and son.

Rev. Brown, pastor of the church in Milan, Italy will be giving a presentation on the Missions work during the Sunday school hour at 9:00 a.m. All adult and children's Sunday school classes will meet in the sanctuary for this special presentation.

Rev. Brown will also be providing pulpit supply and preaching during the morning and afternoon worship services.

Worship Service (10:30 a.m.) Rev. Brown will be preaching on Romans 1:8-17, “The Gospel-Mission of the Church.”

Afternoon Catechism service (1:15 p.m.) Rev. Brown will be teaching from the Heidelberg Catechism, Q&A 53; “What is Pentecost?”

“On January 6, 2019, Rev. Brown was officially installed by the Consistory of Chiesa Riformata ‘Filadelfia’ to serve the church as their minister. Rev. Brown has been involved with the mission work in Milan since 2006. He and his wife Janie speak Italian and have spent much time in Italy over the years. They live in Milan with their youngest son, Iain. They also have three grown children living here in the States.”

Sunday School Classes Resumed: April 18, 2021

The Consistory is pleased to announce that Sunday school classes, preschool through adult, have resumed at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday.

The same disinfecting procedures will be used in the classrooms as in areas of worship, and facemasks will be required. The Consistory encourages families to attend Sunday school regularly as a way to more fully involve parents and their children in the life of the church.

New Member's Class: April 18, 2021

We will be conducting a six-week new members class beginning Sunday, April 18 at 9:00 a.m.  If you are considering membership or just want to know more about our church, this is an excellent way to get to know us.  Please note that even if you are transferring your membership from another church, this class is a prerequisite for membership here at Christ Reformed Church.  Our former pastor, Dr. Kim Riddlebarger will be the instructor.
