Five Lies of Our Antichristian Age: With Rosaria Butterfield: July 29, 2022

Raised and educated in liberal Roman Catholic settings, Rosaria Champagne Butterfield earned her PhD from the Ohio State University and was a tenured professor of English and Women’s Studies at Syracuse University where she taught until 2002. In her late 20s she adopted a lesbian identity and her scholarship specialized in critical theory and queer theory. She studied and wrote about nineteenth-century literature and her work was informed by Freud, Marx, and Darwin. She served as the advisor for campus LGBT group and wrote the university’s policy for same-sex couples. Alongside her partner, she was an active advocate for LGBT aims. In 1999 she was converted to Christ. She described her conversion in her memoir, The Secret Thoughts of An Unlikely Convert. She is married to Kent, a Reformed Presbyterian minister in North Carolina. She is a mother, author, and speaker.  Her most recent book is, The Gospel Comes With A House Key: Practicing Radically Ordinary Hospitality in Our Post- Christian World.  Her next book, Five Lies of Our Antichristian Age is expected to appear in August, 2023.

Dr. Estelle has taught at Westminster Seminary California since 2000. He is a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Prior to taking his position at WSC, he was a pastor in an Orthodox Presbyterian congregation in Maryland and was involved in planting a church in Oregon for the Presbyterian Church in America. Dr. Estelle is the author of Salvation through Judgment and Mercy: The Gospel According to Jonah, and Echoes of Exodus: Tracing a Biblical Motif. Dr. Estelle and his wife, Lisa, have two sons and one daughter.

Church Picnic: June 18, 2022

The church picnic will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Sycamore Park in Anaheim Hills. In addition to the Deacons and Elders softball game, there will be games for the kids, fellowship and good food.

We will have the picnic catered again this year with some yummy tacos.  Lunch is free for the first 100 church members. Come join us for a day of fun as we relax and have the opportunity to visit with old friends and make new ones too.

Ladies' Book Club: May 21, 2022
